HELP! HELP! HELP! i dont know how to make a website!!!!

hello

i am tony ihatetwinks100

as i type this i am watching pulp fiction. i recognize the guy in the third scene but i'm not sure where from and i am simply too lazy to look it up.
here is some information about ME!!!!!!

  • my pronouns are he / him please and thank you. it / its is a-ok as well tho i don't think anyone's ever actually tried it. for the record, it's ok
  • this is like my 70000th neocities because i keep making one, getting mad at it, and then totally wiping it. this may be #theone though because i think i'm starting to get the hang of adaptive sizing so you can actually see any of this bullshit on viewports other than my computer, which has a really weird aspect ratio and was making my sites impossible to look at on other devices
  • can't believe there was a time when you could smoke in an indoor resturaunt and also a shake being 5 dollars was expensive
  • take me back
  • (i wasn't alive yet anyway) (lol)
  • nr: retired from david foster wallace new career in william faulkner

favs ^__^

  • films!!!!: kamikaze girls, the blues brothers, tetsuo the iron man (i love), heathers, but i'm a cheerleader, adolescence of utena, is god is, tank girl, la casa lobo, re-animator, house of 1000 corpses, jennifer's body --etc etc, i am gay. check my letterboxd i guess.
  • shows!!!!: revolutionary girl utena, interview with the vampire, the boys (i have stockholm syndrome), mythbusters, bojack horseman, twin peaks, gotham, bakemonogatari (kind of. it's complicated.)
  • games!!!!: your turn to die, silent hill f, the sims, doom, ultrakill, dream bbq, fallout 4 (if there's any character i'd say i really "selfship" with it's probably john hancock fo4. and grell from black butler Lol)
  • books!!!!: zaregoto series (i'm 1/2 of the fandom, biggest tomo kunagisa fan 2 ever live), infinite jest, lolita, flannery o'connor's assorted works (wise blood is my fav), as i lay dying, land of the lustrous, occasionally known to lurk in mdzs and tgcf spaces tho i haven't actively been super into either of them since like middle school they're still very dear to my heart --as you maybe can tell i don't read that much outside of school, but i'm workin on it :-)
  • music!!!!: everything except pop-country made by men
  • other!!!!: i fuckin love welcome to night vale

stuff and updates and things

i can finally take "in an abusive relationship with infinite jest" out of my now reading!!! gosh i have so many things to say about that book but lowkey the only person i know who likes it is my math teacher lol. hal incandenza is kind of me as fuck and that's potentially the only time that sentence has ever been typed although i don't think stressed out teenage boy who's addicted to weed is a particularly novel experience. whatevs.

i'm back in school, senior year so i get to boss people around extra hard which is cool. uhhh typing in here to avoid having to fuck w the formatting of this site cause i have math in like 15 minutes and adaptive sizing is such a pain in the ass. i'm still deciding what i think should actually be on here, i like having this blog section for the occasions i want to write more long form stuff which isn't often but it happens, in the future it'll probably be a little less scattered but i'm just getting into the swing of things and i don't have the bandwidth to be too concise.

i don't really think i Got house of leaves, but here's what i thought about it anyway.

phew. well after a fairly long and me-typical reading pattern of pick-up-the-book-read-a-chunk-put-the-book-down-and-don't-read-it-again-for-three-months-pick-it-back-up-again-etc, i have finished house of leaves!
i was browsing the youtube search results for house of leaves to see what other people are saying, and i'm kind of annoyed at how few specifically analytical video-essay type posts there really are about it; it's mostly just reviews (vastly different from person to person, which i think was interesting since i feel like pretentious people were really pushing hol for a while lol). i'm sure i'll get around to watching some of them soon, i just don't really need a bunch of youtubers telling me the plot of a book i just read (targeted at w*nd*goon -- literally crossing myself and spitting metaphorically over my shoulder as i type that. i don't even fw typing his annoying youtuber name).
pissy interlude
i honestly quite like creepcast, it's kind of a guilty pleasure for me i guess, but holy shit those two are dumb as a box of rocks. i'm not and will never claim to be the most analytically minded guy but jfc, actually listening to the hosts try to do real time analysis without having immediate access to wikipedia and ghost writers is like pulling teeth. many occurrances but the worst offender was in spire in the woods with the fact that it took alina turning to the narrator (and therefore the reader) and going "I Was Raped. The Protagonist Of This Story Raped Me." for them to go "ohhhhh.. maybe this narrator is kind of a bad guy!" after like 3 seperate scenes of him very obviously coercing alina into sex that she didn't want. idk, i have strong emotions about spire in the woods so maybe this was a me thing, but it was like holy shit are you two fucking illiterate??? i digress.

here are things i want to know people's opinions on:

  • what was up with johnny's relationship with his mom?
maybe it's just because i finally started the vampire lestat today (which is a whole other mess, jeez) but i'd like to see some thoughts from people smarter than me on the emotional incest that i think is a factor in their relationship. out of all the parts of the book, i think the whalestoe letters were the hardest for me to wrap my head around. they reminded me a little of scp-8980 (took me forever to find, you should see my search history. "scp about gaslighting" "scp where a woman gets gaslit" "scp doctor gaslights woman" etc etc etc), mostly because they both do such a good job with the visceral terror of being a woman being told over and over that they don't understand their own reality. lilian (scp-8980 herself), unlike pelafina, has no real line of communication, no special person to listen to her, aside from the reader. i guess i could argue that pelafina may not have that either, since it's unclear how many (if any) of her letters actually reached her belovedest son, not to mention how many of them she actually wrote, tho i think if we're operating from the found media angle that house of leaves generally does, we'll assume the letters are real, based on the fact that we're reading them. but that's about all that's really certain-ish to me. this is going to call for a reread if i ever want to have anything coherent to say about this book, because i don't remember if johnny ever mentions in his own narration whether he ever actually went to visit his mother at whalestoe. honestly think i'd hate this book on a reread though, so i might just have to deal with not getting it lol
  • so did we kill gdansk man or not?

i mean like did we? lol?

will cont writing later,, when i'm feeling a little more smart. currently in the Staying Awake During The Second Half Of Trying To Reset My Sleep Schedule By Staying Up For Like 36 Hours Trust The Process Man and i'm not the most organized ive ever been. just coding so i don't take a nap :-p
